Crane Couple

Just found out from Graham's Blip that this is a recession, who knew?

What I was trying to capture was the pair of cranes that we usually see at this time of year in huge flocks. We'd heard them honking as they passed over our house, but first time we'd seen them on the ground, so we turned the car round and I tried to get them out of the car window, but it was raining in on Jan, so this is my best shot. They'll be eating the acorns that have fallen off these holm oaks. And then, in February, they'll be leaving, mostly for Sweden (where our guests are from!), laying their eggs in May.

Gratefuls:
- loads of rain, not so fun for our guests, mind you, but they're good sports, and realize how much we need it
- not having to get up early (yesterday was a bit of a marathon)
- our wood burner keeping us warm and cozy
