The Lozarithm Lens

By Lozarithm

Chippenham (Saturday 25th January 2020)

There was a large group of adult and juvenile swans beside the River Avon in Monkton Park this afternoon as I walked up towards them. Unfortunately, as I raised my camera a small black spaniel that ought to have been on a lead ran up and chased most of them off the bank. It was very pleased with itself, ran back to the two women who were walking it and then back to the swans to disturb them some more with impunity.
So my blip shows only four of the few that were left and a couple of juveniles disappearing in the distance.
I'm continuing to test my old standard lens and this was taken in full-frame mode, on another grey dull day.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Saariselkä - Void (2019)
While I was in Chippenham I bought a copy of Uncut, whose CD was volume 5 of their occasional series Sounds Of The New West - 15 Tracks Of The Best New Americana. It's really a bit of a stretch to call this Americana, and Uncut describes it more accurately as "five minutes of drifting bliss akin to Beach House remixed by Daniel Lanois".
They seem to be named after a village in northern Finland. According to their website, "There is an old Norse myth that says the great northern glaciers stored energy until they burst with fluorescent light, creating the Aurora Borealis. Saariselka is inspired by the meeting of earth and light, where slowly moving land masses merge with enveloping light fields.  This sonic collaboration is between composers Marielle Jakobsons (Fender Rhodes, organ, synthesizers) and Chuck Johnson (pedal steel guitar and treatments)."
