Wet at Buttermere

A friend of Deb's has come up for the weekend. Unfortunately whenever she visits it seems to rain. Today was no exception - so we had a damp walk around Buttermere.  As we walked from the village towards Sour Milk Gill, a man came up to us and said he'd filled the squirrel feeders on the upper path on the West shore (I didn't even know there was an upper path). We took the path and spent some time watching red squirrels running round between the trees, feeding on nuts. (my longest lens was a 120mm, so photos were out of the question (today!)).

The recession by the birch was simply gorgeous though, so had to be taken.
