Lunch at Gigi's

I am fortunate to have a number of very good friends I have known for more than 30 years. We get together on occasion - about once a month - and go out for a nice lunch somewhere in town, where we catch up and enjoy each other's company. And eat good things too, of course!

On this day, our lunch adventures took us to Gigi's Southern Table, in Cato Park. Above you may see an interior shot of what I (and possibly Hemingway himself) would most certainly call "a clean, well-lighted place."  It is spacious and airy and bright, and well appointed.

It wouldn't be fair to tell you about lunch without showing you the wonderful meal I had. Gigi's offers an express lunch, 2 choices for $11, or 3 for $14. I was starving, so I got three items, and you may see them in the extras: a very nice salad, Gigi's fries, and a pulled pork slider. I ate every bite!

If you might ask me which of the three was my favorite, I'm shocked to say it was the house salad, which featured field greens, pickled red onions, goat cheese, candied pecans, and pecan peach vinaigrette. It was simply delightful!

The soundtrack song has to be about hunger, so here's Van Morrison with Hungry for Your Love.
