Dead Flowers

Gosh these things don't last long! On 29th January I was blipping it in bud.

It's been another day of sorting out water. I was nicely settling into the bath this morning drinking tea, made with the bottled water we collected last night, when The Man said " What about the visitors at Amber Nook?"

Oh dear! I had never considered that the lodge's post code might be on the list of places that shouldn't be drinking tap water. Out of the bath immediately and onto the UU website. No, Amber Nook isn't on, but then neither is Greystoke and we are being given water. Then the local news came on making it sound as if we should all be using bottled water.

I texted the visitors to make them aware of the situation and collected more bottles for them. It took us until 4pm to get an answer from UU telling us ALL areas had water fit to drink now and the bottles were in case the supply had to be stopped at any stage.

Whilst communication over this situation hasn't been ideal, I must say, UU pulled out all the stops and got thousands of litres of bottled water delivered to pick-up points.

In the meantime, one car MOTed and serviced and the other one booked in for the same next week. Bad timing!
