Riding the Waves

Gulls enjoying the surf at Belhaven, the Bass Rock behind. I popped along at lunchtime to marvel at the ferocity of the sea and be glad of big, thick gloves and merino wool layers. These birds - a mixture of black-headed and herring gulls - were ducking in and out of the waves. As I watched, more birds arrived and the whole flock rose and fell with the waves. Now, there might have been some fish under there, but I'm sure they were just having a laugh.

Large Laughs.

Apart from that, a day for staying indoors! Slushy and wet by the coast, with the hills snowed in and drifting in the winds. I didn't risk the train and I think that was the right decision...
