The Edge of the Wold

The watching line

It's the same with wedding photography, there's always someone in a group not looking at the camera.

We travelled over to BW on Thursday for a couple of days. Today began with a pink-flushed sunrise, and when Gus and I were out for our morning circuit there was still a gentle pink wash across the western sky. I've blipped sheep in this field before at this time of year, they are curious to see a sheepdog while ever ready to turn and bob away. Here they had retreated to what for them felt like a safe distance, and turned as one to look at us again. I added several bird species to my annual bird list, including a singing skylark soaring above A's arable field on Braegate.

We had a pre-arranged meeting this morning, which led in a different direction to the one we expected, but nevertheless it was timely and helpful. The way forward is a little clearer.

The day for me was marked by the kindness both of strangers and friends.
