Mountain Totara

A great day spent trekking on Banks Peninsula.

We looked down on beautiful Port Levy.

But in the foreground is a remnant Totara tree trunk, still there after logging of the New Zealand native by early European settlers in the 1800s.

We saw many of these remnants on our walk (see extras).
