Rhubarb, Rhubarb

21st February - 23rd February 2020  is the Yorkshire Rhubarb Festival in Wakefield.
We won't be going, but it seems only right that we have rhubarb for tea.
This comes from our local farm shop. Tomlinson's of Pudsey have been growing rhubarb since the 1800's. Grown in the long dark forcing sheds on the farm.
When I first joined Blipfoto I went into one of the sheds to take some photos' You can see the result here

If you read the write up it tells you all about the family and the farm.
Funnily enough I am also making the same rhubarb crumble for tea today.
What is nice about this recipe is that the rhubarb is cooked in orange juice, and the crumble includes the grated orange rind, some cinnamon
and oates as well as butter, flour and demerara sugar.
Certainly one of my favourite puddings.

For once we haven't had any rain. I think the strong wind has blown it away. We could certainly do with some dry weather.
Hopefully the river levels are now going down.

Mr C very pleased. Leeds have won again!
