Le village

Unlike yesterday, you really can see the snow on the Pyrenees today. The hump-backed mountain is Le Madres (2469m). It might be worth having a look large.

I think this is the dullest time of year for photographing vines. Pruned ones can look quite dramatic, but unpruned ones just look drab and tired, and the scene is all shades of brown (although I did find one sprig of almond blossom, the first this year). This is a view over the village -- of course it does have the obligatory vines in it. I'm always surprised, looking at the village from outside, how many trees there are. The area dotted with brightly coloured streetlights is the terrain des fêtes, scene of the toros de fuego as well as many saucissonades.
