A Never Ending Climb

Today we climbed a mountain, or so it felt. We took the footpath up to the Gibralfaro Castle. From the ground it did not look so high, but it was a long way up when we came to walk it. In some ways the way down was even more difficult than the way up. The path is paved and steep, it feels quite slippery.

The main picture shows the City Council building taken during a pause for breath on the way up. The extra is a view taken from the Castle of the city, with the cathedral in the centre of the picture.

We were glad we chose to go up fairly early as there were many people arriving by the time we descended. Also it would have been a warm climb!
