Good Evening And Welcome

It is strangely quiet tonight
so pick a table,
any table.

Our one Chef
(yes, there has been a reduction in staff
as several have phoned in sick
and would, anyway, have had to
have been laid off)

is ready

willing

and able
to cook up anything
your stressed out heart desires
(from the current streamlined menu).

And may we emphasise
that we really are
very pleased to see you.

Your service this evening
will be excellent and highly personal
(which, I’m sure, will be reflected in your gratuity).

So, first things first,
(to ease your dry throat
and quench that thirst)
what would you like to drink?
