Ash buds

Blip photo is really making me look at things much more closely. Today, I noticed the lovely black buds of the ash tree. Now I have to compare them with the oak buds over the next few days to see which breaks forth first, telling us if we are going to be in for a soak or a splash this spring (if you believe the old saying).
