Day 21 - Autumn

Cold - very cold this morning.  It wasn't until I saw a friend's facebook post from the other side of the Bay that I realised why........SNOW covering the western Ranges!  Oh boy - this could be a long winter if it starts now.  Fingers crossed it's just a short spell of cold weather before the nice warm autumn weather returns.

Trip out today to get the milk and pick up a few more veges.  This tree is one of a row of beautiful liquidambers (I think) that are looking absolutely resplendent in their coats of many colours at the farm where I get my milk.  Met a couple of ex colleagues up there and we all enjoyed a great  (socially distanced) chatter.  It was really great to be in the company of others.

Kitty made a massive stride forwards in her confidence this morning when she climbed up onto the settee, walked along the back then draped herself around my neck.  She's so smoochy when she relaxes - just got to keep working at breaking down her apparent fear of being approached.

Day 20, and a significant day as far as my interpretation of our statistics goes.  It's the first day our 'recoveries' (728) have outnumbered our 'active cases' (649).  The light at the end of the tunnel is in clear view now though there is still a lengthy journey to make it out of its dark, cold length.
There have been no further deaths today which is fantastic news.
