Two Challenges

This is a collage in order to fit two challenges into one Blip. Top is Wildflower Week; bottom is Wide Angle Wednesday.

The wildflower is a mayapple - which I've probably blipped at least once in years past at some point. The flower will be supplanted (in May if not shortly before) with an "apple." I'm told that our woodland box turtles love them. There is a spot on our walk, on the edge of the road and stretching back into the woods, where a mass of them come up every year.

The bottom is SNOW on the mountains in the distance from overnight. It rained all night at our house, but the higher elevations got some snow! And then the sun came out this morning and we saw the snow when we went for our walk. It's probably all gone by now because it's already up to 50 F (10 C) as I type. As the Wide Wednesday challenge for today is (I believe - I could be wrong) "weather" "local landscape" this seems to fit.

I am blipping MUCH earlier than I usually do for no reason other than that I took these two photos and decided they'd do for today - so why wait?

This afternoon I'll be driving into Charlottesville to pick-up my grocery order in the parking lot of the Kroger store I frequent. We'll see how that goes! My pick-up window is 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Not ideal, but as me Mum used to say "beggars can't be choosers."
