Life through the lens...

Salome

I thought these lovely narcissi, variety Salome, deserved their turn in the spotlight before they start going over.
I have a large pot by the front door. A beautiful peachy trumpet with a frilly yellow edge.
Bought from Harlow Carr, this is their second year.

Another sunny day, but with that chilly Easterly wind.
Too cold to sit out in our garden.

Did a bit more sorting out of box files.
As usual got sidetracked.

In our Norfolk file I found a menu from 1993.
A memorable meal and wine tasting we had at The Moorings, in Wells - next -the -Sea.
The tiny restaurant was run by husband and wife team, Bernard and Carla Phillips.
Carla was a wonderful cook, and Bernard a perfect front of house.
Before the meal we had a tasting of Loire wines. 6 In total. all from Corney and Barrow ( East Anglia) Ltd.
We then had a glass of wine to match each course, finishing with a Five Year Old Malmsey Madeira to go with the Tart Tatin.
I can’t remember where we stayed, but it was a B&B within walking distance!!
Happy Days.
( will put a photo of Carla and husband on as an extra)

Must say another thank you to our Daughter - in - law who did some supermarket shopping for us. Still no SR Flour, but our neighbour gave me half a bag, which was very kind.
I was glad to get 4 tins of chopped tomatoes, as I do use a lot in cooking.

So again take care, stay safe, and keep smiling.
Mr Tom has now raised over £27 million!
