The ground is not the bin.

An overcast day today, quite a chill in the air. As I don't have a heated glasshouse, or even an unheated one yet, I'm germinating runner beans and sprouting potatoes in the spare bedroom. Far from ideal as the light's very one-sided, but in the last few days I've been putting them outside in the warmth. Not today tho' - too risky, I think. So this is my Blip for today.

It wasn't a great day for seaside photography so I took my litter picker and bags and did my regular round. Not as much as usual, understandable I suppose, but I still filled two large bags, the second of which was all the rubbish from the salt bin up the road. What's so frustrating is the huge amount of litter down the banks and out of reach. Maybe once this crisis is over and we're back to normal it will be time to make a huge fuss - why are people so thoughtless and filthy, what's wrong with the education system, where are the police, why doesn't the council pick the rubbish up, what do we pay council tax for - I could go on, but I won't. Better to sit down with a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit and forget about it for a while!

Quote of the day:

Stewart Stafford - “The scale of the mess we leave behind is proportionate to the level of respect we have for others.”
