Now, as I see it......

Happy 100th birthday

Happy 100th birthday to Captain (and now Honorary Colonel) Tom Moore; latest member of the England Cricket team, No. 1 recording artist, oh, and also a small matter of over £30,000,000 raised for the NHS.  In recognition of all he has achieved, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight arranged a flypast of his home with a Spitfire and a Hurricane shortly after eight o'clock this morning.  As the crow flies, he lives about five miles away from us so whilst I knew we wouldn't be close enough to see the flypast, I thought there was a good chance they would come over us either on the way there or back.  I tracked them on my 'Flightradar24' app but they must have switched off their transmitter as they started their display.  However, having watched it live on TV we went outside as soon as it finished and sure enough, they flew right over our village on the way back to base.  I managed a few shots as they went over; these are the best of the bunch.

A fitting tribute to a modest and inspirational man.
