Mantis…

……………....….in Silhouette

One of two South African mantis found today hiding amongst the leaves of the swan plant.

On the 3rd of May I blipped a brown South African mantis - usually I find green in the garden, but this year the brown variety have been more prevalent than usual.

Extra Photo - Eyes
Mantis have two large eyes plus three smaller eyes located between - today I have included two photos showing these three smaller eyes.

Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s glowing leaves. These leaves look spectacular in the spring with the new growth and again in the autumn as they reach the end of their cycle - especially when caught in the late afternoon sunlight.
