Bee on the Wisteria

It remains chilly, feeling more like early April than mid-May.  I am sure we will suddenly go from this weather to hot and humid as we often do here in the mid-Atlantic.

We took a long walk around the neighborhood late this afternoon, something I haven't done in a long time.  Usually, I go off to another location for photography so I was amazed to see the renovations and additions that have been added to many of the houses in our area over the past few years.

Maryland cases continue to rise but there has been an increase in testing as well. The numbers do not seem to be rising as quickly, surely because we still remain locked down.  I hope we follow the guidelines to have decreasing numbers for 2 weeks before we begin to open up.  It is clear from the testimony before the Senate today of Dr. Fauci, the CDC, FDA & PHS directors that schools will probably not be able to open in September. Dr. Fauci reaffirmed what many of us already believe, that if we open to quickly there will be a resurgence of the virus and more deaths than are necessary.  He did seem very optimistic about a vaccine, we just have to be patient as it won't happen until next year or beyond.

Covid 19 as of 5/12/2020 -
Montgomery County  7130 confirmed cases, 373 deaths
Maryland  34,061 confirmed cases, 1643 deaths
U.S.   1,,408,636 cases,  83,425 deaths
