ST MARY THE VIRGIN PARISH CHURCH

Had an unsettled nights sleep.  Kept waking up, getting up, sitting on the sofa for a bit, going back to bed..and repeat.  Had a late breakfast, waited in for a parcel and then around 3.30pm made a move to walk down to the village to get my blip shot  - and some shopping.

Blip shot first.  I headed towards St Mary's Church.  My first thought for the Wide Wednesday challenge ( portrait format ) was to take a shot of the steps leading up to the churchyard.  However when I got there I saw a man stood at the top.  I waited till he came down and we had a bit of a chat - whilst keeping our distance of course.  He was out for a walk to get out of the house as he said  there was a serious risk he was going to " strangle his wife."  I think he was only half joking.  I can imagine that marital harmony is in short supply in a lot of homes during this lockdown period.  Anyway he seemed ready to go back home as he left me to go on his way.

I did take a shot of the steps but in the end I preferred this shot of the church with the path leading up to it.  I wonder how many people have walked up and down this path over the years since the church was built in the 12th century.

Thanks to RSDphotography for hosting Wide Wednesday this week

Next I went shopping.  Large queue outside Herons but once inside it was fine as they don't let many in.  No queue outside Tesco so I was in and out quickly.  I didn't linger after doing my shopping as it was a really cold day.

TV this evening - Great British Menu and Great British Sewing Bee. I have recorded Repair Shop and Millionaire to watch later.
