Doin' what they oughta'

I need to look up this bug to find out its name. I thought I saw two on the buttercup, and then I thought I was mistaken. Putting it up on the screen confirmed my first supposition. Could be a wasp beetle but I'm open to suggestions.

Taken on today's walk with Basil. Have started marking 45 dpis from a club in Wales. It wouldn't be quite so bad if it didn't take so long. I have to give reasonable feedback.

T-shirt weather despite it being breezy. Looking forward to warmer temperatures in the next few days. The cow parsley is looking wonderful.
