Settlers…

…………………Memorial

This cairn is built of Takaka Hill marble. It sits beside the Riwaka-Kaiteriteri Road, NZ and was ‘opened’ April 1, 1934.

My ancestors were amongst this first small group settlers to arrive and make their home in Riwaka.
This time last year I was visiting the small village of Kneeton in Nottinghamshire where they lived before departing England for a new and unknown land.

Thank you for your continued comments, stars and hearts, especially for the monarch butterfly blips of the last two days.
