Apple tree nests

We have about 12 old apple trees left over from the days when the property was an orchard. Whilst they still bear fruit, they are  full of hollows and nooks and crannies and in one of them the Great Tits have made a home. Only two of the apple trees produce cooking apples and today I discovered, in one of them, the Blue Tits have made a nesting. 

So around 7pm with fading light I took my tripod and camera down to see if I could get any decent shots. Maxing out the ISO didn’t help much but a few interesting shots were obtained and a couple more are also in the extras.

With better light conditions I hope to get some better shots in the near future. Perhaps a job for a flask and the hide...
