Up the wall

Climbing up the wall is this interesting hydrangea. This time of the year it is covered in these pretty sweet smelling flowers. It is in a north facing wall, but seems to flourish.
I am nearly going up the wall with the noise of motorbikes. The first one roared up the main road before 8am. There are the very heavy ones that thunder their way along, and then there are the little whiney light weight things that young kids delight in racing round the streets. At the beginning of lockdown we remarked how quiet it was, but now it seems that everybody is out and about and the traffic is heavier than ever. We are one block away from the main road but the sound is intrusive.
N treated us at the butcher’s yesterday. He bought a rolled rib of beef. It was worth the extravagance as it was absolutely delicious for our Sunday lunch, and, as usual, it will last us for much of the week.
