A Day In The Life

Hiding in the Hosta

It was downright chilly today. It felt more like April first than the first of June. I actually wore my fleece jacket over two shirt layers while out in the yard, and I can’t say I was warm. The wind had quite a bite to it • We planted five felt bags of “Eva” potatoes. We’ve had good luck with this method vs. the traditional “hilling” method. It takes up less space in our small garden, and easier to care for • Everything else growing around the yard looks great. So far we haven’t had any deer or woodchuck visitors • Our Hosta bed always looks its best at this time of year; it’s so plush and green. Newt enjoys the shade it provides, plus it’s especially covert for spying on all that’s happening in her yard.
