Forth rail bridge and tree

We knew that the weather was forecast to turn today. We decided to make the most of our last chance to enjoy the sunshine (yet another tandem ride), expecting it to last until early evening. In the event, the sun disappeared much sooner than predicted. The clouds were already descending as we cycled into South Queensferry from the Dalmeny estate just before 1pm (as blipped). By the time that we had eaten our packed lunch in Dick and Lawraine's courtyard garden, it had already started to rain.

Even so, we all enjoyed a jolly get-together. This was mainly because (a) we were Dick and Lawraine's first guests since lockdown, and (b) this was only our second visit to their 'new' house (we were last there on 27th November 2018) and we had not yet seen the fantastic transformation of their garden. Here's hoping that the work on our own garden will be as impressive when it is complete.

This evening's family Skype call was enlivened with an appearance from Colorado of Katie and Texas Tim. They joined us in honour of my middle sister's birthday.

Exercise today: walking (15,968 steps); cycling (23 miles).
