First Blooms on the Arboretum's Lily Pond

I had the good fortune to stop by the Arboretum on this day. I am happy to report that the flowers are blooming like crazy. The peonies were all the rage the last time I was there, but they are wrapping up their show now. The latest features include irises in every color of the rainbow, and allium blooming in round, purple glory everywhere.

But oh, the most exciting news is this: The first water lilies are open on the Arboretum's lily pond! I captured the photo above, which includes a representative selection of blooms, as well as reflections of trees and Susan's bench. There are flowers in shades of maroon, white, pink, and yellow, and they are indeed glorious to behold!

The song is Neil Diamond, with Summer Love.
