Queen's Cross

This turned into something of an emergency Blip. It was raining quite hard and looked set to continue. So instead of searching the neighbourhood for anything more interesting, I had better get a shot of whatever is in front of me and head for cover.

So much street furniture. I did eliminate a street lamp, but getting rid of everything else was too much work for what is a not terribly exciting photograph. The building (now a bank) was at one time the largest private residence in Aberdeen. I believe it was also a pub at some point. Here is a link to an old photograph taken at approximately the same place, before Queen Victoria arrived. The link does not quite work - on the Silver City site select “Images by Place” then “Queen’s Cross”. It is the second photo down on the right side of the page.
