The moorhen conveyor belt

I was attracted by the lovely light on the pond in Valley Gardens, quite early this morning.

Then I spotted this relatively small moorhen pick up a floating twig and carry it off.

I followed as it was efficiently delivered to the construction site for the family nest (best viewed large).
