View from J Rools bap queue on markets day

We woke before 6am to get in the frame for the outdoor market near the Shambles this morning. The weather forecast has indicated intermittent rain showers and when we loaded the car very little rain had arrived.

By the time we were set up and the gazebo shelter Helena was using was erected the drizzle began. After a could of brief gaps the rain proper arrived and before we left at 2pm there had been torrential showers. All in all it wasn't a great start to the new ways of trading.

I managed to go to buy a coffee and a breakfast bap at JRools cafe in the nearby Swan Lane.  In the background are the shops on the High Street close to The Shambles. On a normal Farmers Market day this passage would be packed with people moving between the various market stall locations. Maybe next weekend will be better.

As soon as we'd come home the rain eased up and we could pack everything away. Then it was time for a tea and a snooze before heading out in response to Kitty and Matthew's invitation to share early evening drinks outside at their home high up on Rodborough Hill. It felt good to be able to share time and tales with friends again in a more normal way.
