Octave concluded

This evening marked the end of our octave of celebration - and whether it's the champagne or not, Blipfoto keeps trying to upload my selfie upside down. I've reverted to the basic uploader, so can't now see if it's working: I'm ploughing on in faith...

Fittingly, our first indoors guests since lockdown began are the friends along the lane with whom we spent the first permitted outdoors evening a month or so ago - remember? It was summer then, and we sat in the last of the sun in their garden ...This evening's jolly was meant to be like Wednesday's, also out of doors, but the chill of the late afternoon felt more like October and rain threatened ...

So here we are, celebrating our 50th anniversary yet again, with our oldest Dunoon friends. As I write, still somewhat afflicted by bubbles, J is downstairs organising the curry (he made it yesterday) and I'm writing this while I can still make sense, of a sort. The selfie is crazy-looking - or at least I am - because I'm still not very skilled at fitting in four socially-distanced people. But crazy is fine after 50 years. Let it never be said I became sensible in my declining years ...

Cheers!
