Flower Friday - Kangaroo Paw Flowers

The local council planted a whole lot of Kangaroo Paws along one side of the creek next to the little park nearby. It was mainly to beautify the drain/creek which is now an overflow creek for the ‘new’ lake.

Needless to say the plants have survived and are thriving and this year there are lots and lots of flowers along the creek as well as Hardenbergia and other climbers which are actually taking over a bit and hopefully someone will be back to tend to them.  The Kangaroo Paw is a native plant of the south west of Western Australia and is the states flower emblem.
