Superhero halloween

Lazy start to the day then went over to Woburn woods to meet up with Mt&H and the kids and G&N to have a walk with the dogs. Haven’t seen G&N for over a year and it was good to have a catch up and hear all about their home improvements, new puppy due next week, their respective work experiences over the lockdown period and general chat. We got a bit lost (as always!) and found loads of dens...AR amazed me by pretending to build and light a fire (extra)....rubbing sticks together quite the thing. No idea where she’s seen that!
Once we’d done one loop, Mt&H took the kids home and we carried on around the other side for a faster walk talking yoga, diets and physiotherapy....we’re all becoming old crocks!
Back to Mt&H’s for a delicious lunch they’d made. As we sat around and chatted afterwards the kids added superhero masks and capes to their ever present Halloween outfits (they seem to opt to be a vampire and skeleton almost every day if given the choice!) then showed me how they play on the Nintendo....both really fast learners.
Back to T&Kt’s and we pootled around the garden inspecting all their plants and deadheading, then finally unpacked the stuff we’d found in the loft last week. Although reluctant to start, T was pretty interested to find old football trophies, school books one with his complicated drawings of weather systems, all his 5year old paintings, a record of achievements, and then rather appalled at a selection of his teenage outfits. He was delighted though to find he could still fit into them and dressed up in a particularly dreadful pair of jeans and t-shirt (extra). We all felt too full so didn’t have dinner but watched some nonsense murder or accident true story series before a relatively early night.
