Back home

I'm afraid it's a dreadful blip this evening.

We had to be out of our self-catering cottage by 9 o'clock this morning, which meant an unusually early start for us.  It was wet and windy, which made loading the car quite exciting (the boot lid tried to bite me in half a couple of times). The journey home was predictably slow (normal summer holiday traffic in the west country).

We got home, unloaded and ordered a take-away meal, and then I realised I hadn't yet taken a blip.  Outside, we noticed that the "Love in a Mist" was at last starting to flower so, despite the dark gloomy weather and the failing evening light, this had to be my subject (the second time it has served as an emergency blip).  A high ISO, wider than ideal aperture and slow shutter speed gave this result.

Oh, well.  Back to normal tomorrow (perhaps).
