A first for me!

Sitting knitting, watching the rain, I spotted this little bird in the garden.  It was nipping about under the leaves, hunting for insects.  I couldn't identify it, but know a man who could!  John told me it was a sedge warbler, and that he'd seen a few in his garden this weekend.  He said that when he and Bobby first moved to the village, 30 plus years ago, they bred here.

It was a lovely little bird, happily fossicking about in the undergrowth, hardly keeping still for a moment!  Another shot of him/her in extras.
