Traditional bee on a flower shot for Tiny Tuesday

Tiny Tuesday: "Bee on a flower" (Traditional)

At this time of year its hard not to shoot bees on flowers on Tiny Tuesday.  But just to give you a change this one is on the lithrum rather than the lavender.  It is another of those plants (like cat mint) that the bees just seem to go mad for.

I think that this particular bee may have been practising for the pole vault event in the Tiny Tuesday Insect Olympics, but I am a bit short of sleep today.

For some reason I woke up at 5am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, which was very frustrating.  I ended up having breakfast at 6am and was sufficiently early getting to the recycling centre with today's boot full of stuff from Dad's garage that I didn't have to queue.  Given that some days I have had to queue for over an hour that was quite something.

Today's recycling included several packets of ceramic tiles that either Dad or Mum must have bought for the kitchen because they were reduced, but never actually used. When you look at the design - a 70's design with a rustic theme I am only too pleased that sanity prevailed and that my youth was not blighted by having to live with them.... although I suppose it is just possible that they were used in the kitchen at some stage, but that my mind has blanked out the horror....

.... perhaps that is what is waking me up at 5 in the morning and disturbing my sleep?

Also included in my trip were 4 metal canisters used for storing dried milk originally - they were really old - possibly late 50's?  They were full of bits of metal hardware that Dad had squirrelled away, and perhaps forgot.  My brother Brentastic will be interested to learn that Dad's air rifle was not behind those tins, its original hiding place, so I've no idea where that is, as yet.
