Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Dappled

The wooded stretched along the Bank provides good dappled shade and some respite from the heat on this very warm day.

No sign of Purple Hairstreak, but I saw a few Small White, Large White, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Small Heath, Small Copper, Speckled Wood, Holly Blue and Gatekeeper, making eleven different species in all.

We're not exactly back in lockdown, but Bradford Metropolitan District along with a number of other local authorities in West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire have had restrictions on inter-household visits re-introduced. It won't affect me much, but it would have prevented the visit of Sister #2 last Friday. It doesn't effect when the kids can come over as children with two parental homes have been exempt from restrictions all along. And indeed they have just joined me again.   I'm supposed to be starting going into work again in about ten days, so we'll see if these new events make my employers rethink that schedule.
