It hasn't been a great year for insects, especially butterflies, but I spotted this hummingbird hawkmoth on my blip wander. Impossible to get a sharp photo of it.

Our on-again, off-again plan to spend a few days with our friends in an isolated spot in the Pyrenees hit a bump in the road when G emailed to tell us that their neighbours back home, whom they last saw eight days ago at a party in their garden, had tested positive for Covid. G and A don't have any symptoms and the neighbour may well have contracted it after they left, but we decided to play safe and delay our visit till 14 days are up, while G and A self-isolate (not difficult where they are!). Flexible plans are the new normal.
