Nursery rhyme

We were just finishing our walk at Orange Hill Wood when I saw this pair of cows.  The line of a nursery rhyme came to mind, about "the cow with the crumpled horn". Slowly, line by line, most of the rhyme came back to me, but I didn't get further than "the cock that crowed in the morn"; Google provided the final lines, some of which appeared to be 'optional'. I wondered were nursery rhymes still a part of childhood.  Online research showed that fewer parents recite or sing rhymes to their children, and that they are deemed beneficial in the child's learning to speak and structure words.
