Grasshopper Day

I was disappointed to arrive at the park and discover that the swath of bee balm had been mowed down.  First I felt sorry for myself, because I will now have to wait until next year to photograph the pollinators that feasted there. Then, I felt a rush of worry for those hummingbird moths, bees, and butterflies. I suppose they have found an alternative, but it doesn't appear to be on those grounds.  So, I concentrated today on the grasshoppers, because there was an abundance of hopping insects in the grasses.  I would have loved to have gotten a good shot of a large orange hopper, but it preferred the shady areas closer to the ground.   This one was out in the open, and stood out as it sat on a pink wildflower.
