Demo against structural racism and police violence
Somebody was shot by the police on June 18. That somebody wasn't blond and blue-eyed. Mohamed Idrissi was a shy, kind, person with grave mental health issues. He'd never been violent. The landlord's representative had called the cops: Enter four very young officers (all under 25!) who - completely overwhelmed by the situation - had used pepper spray, then shot Mohamed in the chest. Twice. They didn't wait for the victim's mental health worker. They didn't allow neighbours who wanted to calm Mohamed, talk to him. There was a video - clandestinely recorded by a neighbour - that clearly showed the escalation: It wasn't a case of self defence. Today was the second demo to support the family's strugle for justice.
