Some Days I Have Wings

A Portuguese proverb:

Quem não arrisca
Não petisca.

Basically, if you don't risk, you don't get the goodies, or
nothing ventured, nothing gained, I guess.
And so we have.
Padre Luís has a course in Madrid, and needed a driver and company, so we've decided to put friendship above safety, and come with him and Cecílio and Ermelinda.

And this, by Mary Oliver:

Halleluiah
Everyone should be born into this world happy
and loving everything.
But in truth it rarely works that way.
For myself, I have spent my life clamoring toward it.
Halleluiah, anyway I’m not where I started!

And have you too been trudging like that, sometimes
almost forgetting how wondrous the world is
and how miraculously kind some people can be?
And have you too decided that probably nothing important
is ever easy?
Not, say, for the first sixty years.

Halleluiah, I’m sixty now, and even a little more,
and some days I feel I have wings.

Gratefuls:
- safety on the roads here, and Mike's driving
- the grandeur of Madrid (extra on the Gran Via) and the incredibly blue sky here
- fun and friendship
