El Prado

Fountains in front of the Prado.

We walked there this morning to get free tickets for 6:30 this afternoon, and back again to look round the much curtailed paintings on display (still too many to see), and hung in the largest galleries, so plenty of space. But saw Las Meninas by Velázquez; The 3rd of May Executions by Goya; La Maja, clothed and unclothed, and many others.

The first time I went in El Prado was during my term in Granada when I was at Uni. I felt unbelievably favoured then, and did again today.

Gratefuls:
- all the walking we're doing, Ermelinda and I are whacked
- Cecílio cooking delicious food for us
- Madrid light, it feels so clear
