The first blossom....

......nectarine, and I’m not surprised these have “blossomed” so quickly.  Yesterday’s temp was 19° and today was so so hot at 24°.
I gardened this morning, it just about killed me, had to change into shorts and tee shirt.  Any rate, I managed to get done what I wanted, then took it easy this afternoon.
We noticed a substantial smoke haze enveloping us later this afternoon, was concerned as it has been rather windy.  I checked the news on the internet and sure enough a massive fire is raging in the forests on the Mt Cook road, (the Twizel end), about 150km west of here....one home has been lost and they are fighting to save others.  It is burning right down to the Lake Pukakai shore line, and with similar nor west wind conditions set to continue for another couple of days they say this could burn for days. Mainly being fought from the air as the forest too intense for ground crews.
In other news from Lockdown 3 Auckland is now in Lockdown 2.5, and the rest of us remain in Lockdown 2.
Two Covid cases today, connected to the community cluster.
