Greylag Geese

I went up to Birsay to try and do a seawatch from the Point of Buckquoy in the hope of seeing some migrant seabirds, especially shearwaters, but the elements were not kind. Visibility was poor with a strong south wind probably blowing birds further than I could see. There were c120 gannet, 20 great skua, 1 Arctic skua, 1 wheatear , turnstones, redshanks, geese etc. About 20 harbour seal were on the beach of the Bay of Birsay (extras). They thought of going into the sea, but changed their mind as I passed out of sight.
