Garden sunset

I had a short autumnal walk around Holme Fen NNR this morning, after dropping Pete off to continue their entomological survey. I'd been hoping for some fungi, but they were pretty sparse in the areas I visited. I did see a fantastic Leopard Slug though, sliming its way across the copper-coloured bracken.

It stayed rather dismal for most of the rest of the day, but as the sun set the clouds lit up, in a splendid array of pink and gold. We seem to have had very few good sunsets recently, so this image got pride of place over the slug.
