Alnwick

I can’t ever recall being 100 yds from the house I was living in dressed only in my nightie and slippers. This may of course happen in the future should I go doolally, but today it was the conscious desire to catch another amazing sunrise, and the funny thing was there was one other woman out doing the same thing in her nightie.

Having seen what was on offer, I got dressed and walked over the golf course towards the castle to get another view and post a blip.

4 miles and a breakfast later we drove to Alnwick for coffee and lunch, the latter in a building which was the old railway station and now the home of the much praised Barter Books. Alnwick Castle and the gardens were accessible by advance booking only but we walked about the streets enjoying the feel of the town.

Now back to the holiday house trying to resolve an issue with my energy suppliers after a switch which has only partially happened. Please don’t tell me to sign up to a website that will do it all for you, as I have and they haven’t.

A sundowner drink has found its way to my hand and things are suddenly looking up.
