Limestone Waxcap

A fairly quiet day, preparing for another trip to Kent tomorrow. It turned surprisingly warm on my afternoon walk round the Old Sulehay NR, where I was searching for fungi. The boletes that I wanted to see and photograph had largely been demolished by slugs, and the remaining few were rather dry and shrivelled. However, the waxcaps in Stonepit Close were coping much better with the recent spell of dry weather, with both Limestone and Persistent Waxcap more abundant than I've seen for many years.
