Chicken dinner

Every spring and fall, the Lions Club holds a chicken dinner fundraiser. It was canceled in the spring because of the virus, but for the fall, it's being held via drive-thru. The meal is $7 for half a chicken, french fries and a bun, but the fries weren't part of it this time. Jill thinks that's because the fries always take awhile, and they wanted to keep lines and crowds down. The food is delicious.

It's strange to me how excited locals get about this. It's good chicken, and it supports a good cause, but this small-town stuff is still odd to me. Everyone looks forward to the chicken weekend. All right.

I took a photo of the chicken place pre-pandemic.
